Cropping narrows the visible area of a PDF page. Use it to remove empty borders from a scan or focus a page on the content you want to read. This tool changes the page boundary instead of converting your document into pictures, so existing text and vector graphics stay in the file.
The cropped area is not a secure deletion. Content outside the new boundary can still exist in the PDF. Scanned text remains an image; cropping does not add OCR, straighten a skewed scan, or compress its images. Keep the original and check the downloaded copy before sharing or printing.

Crop all pages, just the page you are viewing, or a custom page range. Other pages stay unchanged.
Adjust page boundaries without turning pages into images. Original text and vector artwork remain in the PDF.

Preview a page, draw the area to keep or set margins, and choose which pages to crop.
Save a new cropped PDF. Your original document stays unchanged.
Trim blank space or a dark scanner edge without changing the text in the middle. Inspect every page because scan alignment and borders can vary.
Bring a chart, worksheet, or report closer to the visible edge for easier reading. Leave enough room for captions, footnotes, and page numbers.
Download a tidier copy before sending it to others. If you need a shareable URL, choose the separate PDF-to-URL tool after checking the crop.
Use a page range when only a cover or selected scans have extra margins. Pages outside your selection keep their existing boundaries.
Drag over the preview to mark the area to keep, or enter how much to trim from each edge. Start with a small crop and compare it with the original before applying it widely.
Percentages are measured against each page's width and height. Trimming 5% from both left and right leaves 90% of the width; top and bottom work the same way. Mixed page sizes therefore receive proportional rather than identical physical margins.
Use millimetres when you know the physical border size, such as a 10 mm scan margin. Enter each edge separately. Cropping changes the visible paper area; it does not scale the remaining content to fill A4.
Use inches when your document measurements use that unit. A 0.5-inch trim from both sides removes 1 inch in total. Check portrait and landscape pages separately before reusing the same values.
These examples use ideal portrait pages and equal margins on all four edges. Actual results depend on the PDF's existing page boundary and orientation; the tool does not resize it to a standard paper format.
| Page format | Original visible size | Trim from each edge | New visible size |
|---|---|---|---|
| A4 | 210 × 297 mm | 10 mm per edge | 190 × 277 mm |
| US Letter | 8.5 × 11 in | 0.5 in per edge | 7.5 × 10 in |
Choose this for a cover or a single scan. Navigate to the intended page first, then check its preview before downloading.
Enter a range such as 1-3, 5 to crop only those pages. Page numbers start at the first page of the file, which may differ from the numbers printed on the document.
Use this when margins are consistent. Review pages with different dimensions or rotation first; a crop that fits one page may hide useful content on another.
Your PDF is opened, previewed, and exported in this browser; the cropping tool does not upload it or require an account. Use an unencrypted PDF within the 50 MB and 500-page limits. Large or complex documents can still exceed the memory available on your device.
Cropping is different from redaction, compression, and resizing. It is not a way to remove private information or guarantee a smaller file. Saving an edited PDF may invalidate an existing digital signature. Verify the result in a PDF viewer, especially before printing or sharing it.
You can still set margins when preview rendering fails, but verify the exported copy carefully. For encrypted or damaged files, first obtain an unlocked, working copy from the document owner.
Reset the margins and start with a smaller value. Check all four edges, the selected unit, and the page range. Keep visible width and height above the minimum instead of trimming an entire page away.
Create separate copies from the original for groups that need different settings. This tool applies one margin setting per download; it does not automatically detect blank borders or assign a different crop to every page.

Yes. Choose the current page or enter page numbers and ranges such as 1-3, 5. Pages not selected keep their existing boundaries.
Yes. Cropping changes PDF page boundaries rather than rasterizing the document, so the original text and vector content remain.
No. Content outside the crop boundary may still exist in the file and can potentially be recovered. Use a dedicated redaction tool for confidential content.
Use an unencrypted PDF up to 50 MB and 500 pages. Rotated pages and mixed page sizes are supported. Damaged or password-protected files must be repaired or unlocked first.
Not necessarily. This tool changes page boundaries and keeps the original content. Use a compression workflow if reducing file size is your main goal.
No. Cropping reduces the visible area without rescaling the content. Choose a resizing or print-layout workflow if you need an exact standard paper size.
Yes, use the margin fields if dragging is awkward on a small screen. Processing happens on your device, so larger PDFs may work better on a computer with more available memory.
